KOBICHI BHAJI
delicious marathi recipe / pakakruti for kobichi bhaji or you can say cabbage bhaji or sabji
Ingredients:1/4 tsp asafoetida
¼ cup chana dal ( bengal gram)
250 grams cabbage
3 tbs coriander leaves
3-4 green chilies
¾tsp mustard seeds
4 tsp oil
½ tsp sugar
½ tsp turmeric powder
2 tbs fresh coconut scraped
5-6 curry leaves
salt as per taste
Method:1) Remove outermost leaves of cabbage and shread it finely. Wash in a salt water.
2) Soak chana dal in the water for 2 hours.
3) Chop green chilies and coriander leaves.
4) In a pan, heat oil & add mustard seeds. When start spluttering, add curry leaves and green chillies fry for 10 seconds add asafoetida and turmeric powder.
5) Add soaked dal to it. Fry for 1 mnt .
6) Now add chopped cabbage and mix well. Cover with water on lid .
7) Remove the lid and stir after 5 minutes. cover and cook again for 5 minutes Once the cabbage is cooked, add salt and sugar. Mix and cook for a min.
8) serve garnished with corriander leaves and coconut
Serve hot with Chapati.
